Memorial Park

Memorial Park was a fast-paced renovation project completed in ten months with the course closing in mid-Jan 2019 and opening in early November 2019. The golf course hosted the PGA Tour’s Houston open in November 2020 and was well received by the Tour, the players, and patrons. The construction scope included a full renovation with new golf features, grass, irrigation, drainage, rainwater harvesting and storm water detention system, 40-acres of sand capping and drainage tile underneath, a new maintenance facility, and a new two-tiered driving range hitting structure.

In 2020 we constructed a 4-hole reversable First Tee Facility, installed landscaping and trees, constructed a fan entrance for the Houston Open, built a 20,000 sq ft putting green and bunker/chipping green, and expanded the driving range by 85 yards. The range expansion project included the removal of 10 tennis courts and the construction of 10 new post-tension slab courts with new lighting and fencing, and the construction of two full size croquet courts built to putting green specifications.

The golf design was done by Tom Doak and golf feature shaping by Renaissance Golf Design.

The project was funded by Astros Golf Foundation, the new sponsor of the Houston Open.
